Encouraged and supported by
SLACC, and working with diverse groups such as the Windermere Town Council,
Sustainable Carlisle,
South Lakes Development Trust, and others, TACT has been working to create events throughout 2010, gathering together creative, like-minded and enthusiastic people - with a view to having fun and working together towards greater community resiliance.
Coming up this year - 2011: - * "Fruity Windermere" - a project aimed towards more fruit growing locally
- * a grafting day
- * continued film showings
- * an AGM in March
- * Pudding Party -"Share the Sweetness" Fundraiser -21st May 2011
- * our second "BIG GREEN EVENT" - 11 September 1011
- * plenty of planting... (get in touch to find out more about where this will be happening...)
- * and more!
There's a sustainable local energy producing project being researched, and the possibility of creating a car club being investigated...
So there is plenty of potential for happening things!
TACT Sub GroupsTACT aims towards being organised loosely on the Transition Town model, with sub-groups which meet regularly, running their own events, projects and campaigns. Currently there is the very active Food Group, an emerging Energy and Buildings Group, an Events group, and a Share group.
